Despite it only being very short, due to notable dedication and commitment to training, the squad worked hard at developing their skills and progressing their game of netball. As a result of this we really gelled together as a strong team. This year the U16 A team consisted of: Ellie Kelly (GS) and Mary Gittens (GA) playing in attack; Esmé Dublin (WA), Rachel Cross (C), Emma McCabe (WD) and Ria Sanghera (WD) playing the centre court; and Poppy Davenport (GD) and Ella-Rose McCartney (GK) in defence. A definite highlight of the season this year was winning the U16 Coventry Tournament and maintaining our five-year undefeated title! The girls played brilliantly together, winning all their matches and beating the likes of: Bluecoat (14-8), Finham (8-6), Coundon Court (13-4), Cardinal Newman (11-0) and arguably most importantly Bablake (15-5). A well-earned win and a great way to end the season as a team. In the second half of the year, many of the girls joined the Senior Netball squads and made their debuts on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th teams. This enabled us to gain brilliant experience working with new, mixed teams and also allowed the girls to experience playing higher standards of Netball and try out new positions. On behalf on the squad, I would like to thank Mrs Pontin for coaching us this season. She has taught and guided us through every match and has been a lovely coach to us over the last few years. We really appreciate and thank you for the time and effort you put in. Finally, I would like to thank the U16s for being a fab team to captain for the last 3 years. I feel we’ve really developed as a team and become brilliant friends because of it. Thank you and I will definitely miss playing alongside you all. Poppy Davenport U15a team report This year our team consisted of Lydia Banks, Tabitha Banks, Chelsey Johnson, Davina Mistry, Charlotte Pagan, Vicky Povey, Eleni Georgiades and Arianna Wallbank. We had a promising start to the season, winning against St Martins and close games against Kingsley and Edgbaston. We then proceeded into the Coventry tournament where we won all our games to get to the final against Bablake. After a long afternoon playing some great netball we came second. Our last game of the season was against Princethorpe where we played our best netball yet thanks to our commitment and hard work in training. This has not been our best year in terms of results but we have all worked really well and improved together as a team. Well done girls! Thank you to Mrs Pontin for coaching us and we look forward to next year. Tabitha Banks U14 team report It’s been another great season for the U14 netball A team. Not only have we won many of our fixtures, we also placed first in the Coventry Cup tournament, beating Bablake in a very close final match. This meant we proceeded to the Coventry and Warwickshire tournament but sadly we didn’t continue to the Midlands round. On behalf of the team, I would like to thank Mrs Morris for all the work and time she spent couching us and keeping us motivated during our matches. I also want to thank all the girl for their dedication and effort towards every match and practice. We are looking forward to coming back next year as the U15’s and continuing to play and win our future matches. U13 team report The U13 A team have had a great season this year, working incredibly hard and gaining some fantastic results. There have been lots of tight matches resulting in many victories and few losses, but we did not let this knock us and kept our heads held high with the determination to keep going. We ended the season on a high, dominating the Coventry Tournament and earning a well-deserved first place. All throughout the year the girls showed amazing commitment and dedication to the team, giving their everything and fighting hard till the very end of our tiring yet exciting season, demonstrating an incredible amount of teamwork and having lots of laughs along the way. I would like to thank the team for making this season such an exciting and fabulous one. On behalf of the team, I would also like to thank Mrs Morris and Mrs Pontin for their support and dedication throughout the year, as we could not have gotten here without them.
