During the summer term the DT department were commissioned for a top secret project: to design and craft a trophy for a new award. This award was inspired by Leanne Goodlad and the heart and dedication that she showed daily to overcome her illness and embrace life in every sense. Mr Tandy worked alongside Sam Oates, the resident gifted DT expert, to produce two stunning trophies cast from pewter. The first trophy was presented to Leanne’s family as testament to her being the first recipient and inspiration behind the award. The second will be awarded annually to the student who fully embodies the heart of Henry’s. This year’s recipient is Charlotte Faulconbridge for showing incredible levels of tenacity and resilience to overcome her personal challenges and attain excellent results in her GCSE studies. This trophy, and all it represents, stands as an illustration of the calibre and character of the students that walk our corridors and leave Henry’s as ambassadors for our school. The spirit of this award is perfectly articulated in the following piece written by Dr Cuthbert, Leanne’s Head of Year. hearT of henry’s award 40 | The CovenTrian
