For Stefan is not only an A Level student striving for academic excellence with his Year 13 cohort; he is also a World SuperSport Racer for the PTR Honda team. On June 17th 2015 Stefan, a 17 year old in pursuit of his dream opportunity, was entered as a wildcard for the team at the season finale in Misano. His performance in this race and his credentials from previous seasons led to him securing a full time ride in the World SuperSport Championship for the 2016 season. This year, whilst studying, Stefan has also been travelling the world to race with his team and his father Dave. The first meet was at Phillip Island where Stefan improved in every session. Simon Buckmaster, the team manager, when discussing Stefan’s promise and talent said “With Stefan we have a young raw talent that we want to take to the top. Our ambition with Stefan is to learn and achieve the best results we can. We look forward to seeing how far up the results sheet we can climb.” Stefan himself is keen to appreciate the work of his whole support network, “ I am happy to be part of the CIA Insurance Honda team because we all work together well. I can’t thank Dad enough…although I have promised him an Aston Martin collection.” In addition to his debut season successes and the thrill of all that brings Stefan has displayed tenacity and resilience in his approach to his academic pursuits culminating in him achieving a solid set of A Level results this August. The school is very proud of Stefan’s amazing achievement and we wish him every success with his professional riding career. 76 | the Coventrian
