       HENRY’S RISES TO

       THE CHALLENGE!

When asked to compile this latest edition of the Arrow, my initial
response was utter panic! How could I possibly fill 16 pages when
every trip, sporting fixture, concert and dramatic performance had
been cancelled? What newsworthy stories would be generated
during a term in which the majority of pupils and staff hadn’t set
       foot on the School site?
As I hope the following pages illustrate beyond all doubt, a school, OUR School,
is so much more than bricks and mortar. When circumstances kept us physically apart, our
community grew closer and stronger than ever. Our fabulous teachers delivered over 12,000
online lessons; music, drama and sport continued to thrive in the virtual world; supervision
continued for children of key workers; £1,000s raised for NHS charities; and over 11,500 items
of PPE made and donated to our local community.
It is hard to think of another time during my 30-year association that I have felt such pride in
       King Henry VIII School!
