We are very sorry to announce that Michael John
Mac (‘73) died at the age of 52 on 2 June. According
to the tribute in the “Horse and Hound” on 5 June, he
was “a Britsh team rider, Horse of the Year Show
champion, accredited coach and former Britsh Show-
jumping (BS) Chairman'. Les Harris, current Chairman
of BS, is reported to have said of him, "We have lost
today not only an innovator for our sport but also a
man whose strength knew no bounds. His strength
and backbone were second to none, as were his com-
passion and understanding. I talk not only for myself,
but also for everyone at BS when I say that I
feel privileged to have known him and that I will miss
